How do i go about telling the user that he doesnt have the correct version of DirectX to run my game? Is there an dxVersion call i should use? Is there an OpenGL equivalent? Thanx people,

Basically you can just try to get the interfaces for the DX version you require, and pop up a message-box if they arent available. If you have the DX SDK there''s actually an example of this, its in samples\Multimedia\Misc\GetDXVer\ in the SDK directory. Theres a bit of info about it at MSDN.

You can also use direct setup. It has a function called DirectXSetupGetVersion. It will return the version number and revision number. However if you want to use this you must include the dsetup.dll with everything.
