Basically, I''m thinking of doing my use-case diagrams in levels. I''m going to say have a high level use-case diagram that kinda shows a Customer, Manager, and Daemon interacting with my DVD rental system. Then, I''ll have seperate use-case diagrams for the customer, Manager, etc, depicting the interaction between the individual actor and the system, in more detail. Is that a good way of doing a use-case diagram?

That''s pretty much the general approach to expressing tasks and interactions.

If you need to express an ordered process, eg a series of steps, for a given use case association, usually an Activity Diagram is the way to go.

It depends on which relationships you are trying to express.

If its a who interacts with what then use cases work fine.

If you want to describe a task in more detail then an Activity diagram is better for that.
