DirectInput problem

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem i''m having with DirectInput. For some reason, when I try to acquire the keyboard, I keep getting DIERR_HANDLEEXISTS. In the SDK it says that this means the device has already been acquired, but it hasn''t, at least not by my program. I''m using LCC-Win32 3.3 latest build, and DirectX 8.0. I''ve tried passing previous DInput versions to DirectInputCreate but that doesn''t help either. Can anyone help, this is driving me nuts!

Nevermind, got it working now. Turned out to be because I was initing the keyboard too early, it obviously don''t like being acquired before initialising the directdraw.
