How to place objects in world space?

hi again, my engine uses relative coords for objects in world space, so that the origin of objects is always 0. but should the origin of the object at the center point of the object or is this not important? currently the origins are the left, front and bottom point of an object. thanks gammastrahler

it really depends on what you need to do, how your collision system, if any, will work, etc. for instance, if you are going to be pitching and rolling your objects programatically, then you may want the center point to be your pivot point (which may or may not be the actual center). if your guy is walking then its sometimes better to have the "center" of the character be at its feet so that you can place him on the ground easier, regardless of what animation is getting played.
