Creating a torus?
Does anyone know a simple way to do a torus? I know how to make one with sin and cos values, but it seems like if they have quadrics in opengl to do a sphere, it should be able to do a torus. Or am I better off doing it myself?
Do it yourself.
I don't know, maybe there is a built-in function to create toruses, but is it that hard to create? If you already got the sin/cos algorithm to create such one, why don't you ue it? Create the torus and store the vertexes in a good way, then just render from that array of vertexes.

I know glut can do them, but it doesn''t make texture coordinates. I want to make a warp-tunnel type of effect simply with a torus, and make it look like you are moving down the tunnel by rotating the texture matrix. I suppose making it myself is better, but I still have to work on the drawing code. It doesn''t show at all!
