Some simple Questions
Hi there.
I have some questions about the Power render engine.
1> Is there a Chunksystem or anything else like an outdoor bsp?
Lets say for a racing game.
2> How much vertices or polys can be shown per frame?
Lets say on a P2 ... well 400 with GeForce 1 ?
Well for now only two, maybe later more ^^.

1. You could subdivide a racing track into sections and it will perform bounding box tests to see which parts are visible. You could also use the portal example. For racing tracks it should be easy to create a circular list of track sections, and draw n section in either direction away from the current section.
2. There is a big gap between T&L and non T&L cards. If you want to test speed, load up the PRO Edit tool and load some models in. The rendering speed will also depend on texturing and shading methods, screen resolution, and many other factors so I don''t give out numbers. The new engine is optimized for T&L cards and will render basic meshs pretty close to the maximum speed of the card.
