Aliasing on lines

I am trying to render some points on the screen. I am using a simple vertex shader to position the points. The problem is, only some, say 8 out of 12, points can be seen. When moving the camera, different points become visible. When I change the primitive type to a line strip, the lines appear, but are fragmented. Is this an aliasing problem? What can I do about it?
