Hey! I was wondering if anyone knows of any video game - PC, console, whatever - companies that have headquarters or offices located in Toronto, Canada? Thanks, Voytek http://www.liquidsoftware.cjb.net Games, apps, and more!

none. don''t even think about it. Toronto, is THE FINANCIAL sector of Canada (i.e. banking, trust funds, stocks, etc.). i have lived in the GTA since for about 20 years and have found nothing. if you are looking for programming jobs in Toronto, you will be looking at java-script, java applets, ASP, and VB. utterly disgusting if you ask me. the biggest city in Canada, and a fairly world reknown city doesn''t have one game dev. company. oh, well. i don''t plan on living in this city much longer.

Okay, jackass who placed a reply, Toronto is the has the company who develops one of the biggest visual effects software packages for movies today. They''re being bought by ILM. Secondly, they have one of the best encryption software comapnies in the world, who just signed a multi-million dollar contract with the Amercian CIA to lease their software. Who do you think you are?
Canada Rules. And thats the bottom line. I AM CANADIAN!!!

"Ringside tickets please!"

Bravolino: "visual effects software", "encryption software". my bad, i thought he asked about "video game development companies". what was i thinking. like i said, what would i know, i''ve only lived here for 20 years. i could care less if you are Canadian or not, because that is not relavent to the original poster''s question. ohh, and i am not Canadian (Brooklyn, NY).

and if you wish to answer the original poster''s question, can you please start by naming "GAME DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES" in Toronto, PLEASE? THAT''S WHAT HE IS ASKING.

If your looking for profesional game companies, i'm not sure about toronto, but i'm very sure's a company somewhere else in ontario. There's a company called Digital Extremes, that's working on UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2 that's located like 90 miles from toronto. I'm sure there's other companies that are behind the scenes, that are working on some very impressive games.

This company WORKED on Unreal and UT!

Canada is a great place, I like America better but, there is no reason to bash Canada. It's alot better then about 90% of the countries out there, and is basically like America just a little colder.

Doesn''t EA have a branch in Toronto?
LOWORBIT: who''s bashing Toronto. did i say Toronto sux. no, i said "utterly disgusting if you ask me. the biggest city in Canada, and a fairly world reknown city doesn''t have one game dev. company.". i love Toronto. some of the bombest jungle clubs, ever, home of the "Maple Leafs", etc. that being said...

you will be hard pressed to find game companies IN Toronto.

Alright... Well do you think that any company - even those encryption and visual effects ones - would do co-op with a grade 11 student? I want to learn about it next year.
