Just an FYI, came across this tool at this site http://www.fraps.com/ It also 'claims' to force WinXP to use OpenGL instead of through a DX wrapper.
This version of Fraps patches the the D3D wrapper to ensure it is disabled, and everything runs through OpenGL as it should. I have noticed no glitches when running with pure OpenGL (in other words there's nothing to suggest the D3D wrapper is warranted or required). You just get a nice speed increase up to the levels you'd expect with 95/98/2K.
I can't corroborate this as my games are DX only. Anyway, I thought you may enjoy this, as there are sooooooooooo many 'How to calculate FPS' questions out there. D.V. Carpe Diem Edited by - DeltaVee on January 29, 2002 1:07:30 PM
