Hi there, I am due to start an MSc programming project in a couple of months and want to do something related to game development. The project is done over the course of 2 and a bit months, with a month for writing up everything. Ive come up with a few ideas for projects that are not related to game development, and cant seem to think of anything which would be both realistic for the time (and one programmer) and "of a problem solving nature" in the areas I would rather work on. The project can be business related, AI, graphics, anything really, as long as it is demanding and can be completed in the time. Does anyone have any ideas for GameDev related projects, as Im a bit stuck..? Jon

How about making some kind of physics engine with basic 3D graphics... This can be used to demonstrate your graphics/3D thing for games but it could also appeal to businesses, esp those in the engineering sector or something.
Code a 3d chess game. Use 3d models for spawns. This kind of game combines subtle amount of AI code and graphics, and still can be finished in the time.
