I'm fairly new to c++ and I'm trying to understand a block of code. LPCSTR IpAddress; PIP_ADDR_STRING pAddressList = &(Adapterinfo->IpAddressList); IpAddress=""; do { IpAddress=pAddressList->IpAddress.String; pAddressList = pAddressList->Next; cout << IpAddress; } while (pAddressList != NULL); In the following line, am I correct in assuming the pointer pAddressList gets the address of the IpAddress member of Adapterinfo? PIP_ADDR_STRING pAddressList = &(Adapterinfo->IpAddressList); Edited by - killswitch on January 31, 2002 2:08:32 PM

Yes, it gets the address of the IpAddressList (not IpAddress, probably just a typo) member of Adapterinfo.

yes PIP_ADDR_STRING is a pointer to the datatype IpAddressList.

therefore, pAddressList = &IpAddressList;
