Hey, I''m writing a 2d game in dd7, and i''ve hit a snag. The game has run well up until now. I have many blits going on, and the framerate has held up well, then, when I added an overlay, the GUI for the game, the framerate suddenly CRASHES. The overlay surface is 800x600, with most of it colorkeyed out. I''m using Blt, not BltFast because I need color key support. Any idea why it is so slow? My system should be able to handle it: PIII 800 384M GeForce 3 64M WinXP Detanator (latest) Any help would be muchly appreciated! Mike

Ok, i fix''d it. Learned something too. Nifty

I was blitting from 0,0 to 799,599. Assuming (logically) that zero to 799 was 800 pixels, and 0 to 599 was 600 pixels. But, when i changed it to 0,0 to 800,600, it all worked wonders. I guess my card was resizing the image on the fly (whichis probably slow). Cansomeone tell me what DX uses the extra row and column of pixels for?
