Simple: Best 3D graphics theory book. i.e tells you how to do shadows, cloud effects, realistic lighting, bezier curves & so forth. ideally some physics type stuff i.e deformable geometry Sorry for same post you''ve had many times but want up to date view! Cheers.

I don''t think you should rely on one even with budget constraints. Here''s a few really good books, but you can''t rely on one!

Mathematics for Computer Graphics Applications
Computer Graphics: Principles and Practice.
Advanced Animation and Rendering Techniques.
Mathematical Elements for Computer Graphics.
Real Time Rendering.
Texturing and Modeling.

They, and a few others, all sit proudly on my shelf.
