Mouse input on 3d objects!!!

I really need to know how to process mouse input on a 3d scene! I tried the ''PickPoly'' sample, but nothing happens!!! so far I have a triangle that is moved to the location of the object, and then the IntersectTriangle function is called. I tried rotatinng the 3 vectors the same way it does when it renders, but still nothing happens what order do the vertexes have to be in?

the new DX 8.1 has an interface called ArcBall, probably exactly what you need. Doing it by hand is plain math.
