Anyone know the best way to read in a number from a file when its written in hex? Say I have a file with these contents: bill = 0xFF How can I read in the FF as 255? Is the only way to read it in as a string and convert it manually...? It seems to me there''d be a better way than that... Arek the Absolute

fscanf() does this automatically for you. See MSDN or any other documentations for details on formats you can use.
