Let''s say I''ve written a piece of software in C++ using OpengGL,GLUT and some windows stuff if needed, now let''s say I want to compile said software on a windows machine using the cygwin gcc port, and let''s say I want to be able to run the program from outside of the little cygwin world on my computer, how do I link it statically? I tried using the flags that are supposed to work, but they dont... I''ve tried searching old usenet postings as well, but noone seems to have had this problem(?) /Mikael Jacobson

statically linked cygwin executables(if thats even possible) would be pretty big. i suggest you use mingw, since it uses msvcrt.dll and is imho a better compiler
