Hey, I am wanting to purchase a good book for the new SDK. I saw beginning Direct3D Game Programming, by Wolfgang F. Engel. Does anyone know anything about this book or have some other books or tutorials to recommend? I need something fairly easy but not kindergarden stuff. I have been learning DirectX 7.0 but someone told me that D3D was easier to use and initialize COM. Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Should be out by the end of march...
Author, "Real Time Rendering Tricks and Techniques in DirectX", "Focus on Curves and Surfaces", A third book on advanced lighting and materials
Have you even looked at our DirectX Books section? I keep it as up to date as possible, and there are plenty of reviews by staff and others to help you decide.
