I just got the program and I want to do a simple thing.... take a nebula picture, which is a cluster of stars on a black background, and have all the black be zero percent alpha and fade into 1 alpha the brightest color. Any help would be apreciated!! thanks; ~Schwags

You want all the black gone, but all the stars 1% visible?
I found out a way to do it another way w/ the same results. Basicly, i wanted a spinning picture of a nebula to ONLY display the nebula and have the image of stars seen through the nebula. bad explanation... yes
thanks tho..

the trick is to use magic wand in the black area, then invert the selection. And finally copy the select star in some new layers.
