i''m currently developing a program using dx 8.1 sdk. in debug-config (vsc++ 6.0) everything is fine, but running in release-conifg makes my prog just quits, not because of a "return" or "exit" command. have i to twek some settings of dx first or where may be the problem? greetz

well, i just found the error. it was a pointer initialization fault. but i don''t understand, why that worked in debug mode... strange, very strange...

That''s because in debug mode, VC++ initializes all memory (usually to sth like 0xCDCD) and may very well have produced a valid pointer.
