I came across this after some time spent away from the compiler, and it baffled me until I looked it up on Google.com The problem is/was that after editing a file in the Visual C++ IDE, and attempting to save (or compile, which attempts to save the file automagically), an error would appear as follows: ''[Filename and path]'' Cannot save file. The file may be in use by another application. Turns out that it was Norton Anti-Virus (which I had installed recently to evade some problems at work) causing the file lockup. My solution? Disable NAV! MatrixCubed
