What kind of SDK should you use to be able to play sounds and get input when using OpenGL for output? Which one is the easiest to learn or best in performance? What about GLUT or SDL?

You can check out SDL for sound and input, if your looking for simplicity, or you could use OpenAL for sound. If you can handle the challenge, using DirectSound and DirectInput (assuming you are coding on Windows) would be another good idea.

I also recommend SDL and OpenAL. SDL handles input, threading, and window creation among other things. OpenAL is just sound, but it''s probably the nicest sound API I''ve ever used (it''s a lot like OpenGL, just not for graphics ).
