interesting finding (direct draw)
Hi all,
I found that i can get a speed increase on my graphics card when doing a blt from back buffer to front over a usuall flip! I get 450 FFS on the BLT and 75 on the flip
Im using a Geforce 2 64 Ti BTW
Anyone had anything like this before ?
Tim
ok thanks for that info ;-) thought there must be a reason lol.. 1 quick question though..
The reason i did the test was that it makes my life easier to actually BLT the screen because im going to be doing a kinda of dirty screen updating... where only areas which need re-drawing are re-drawn. If I have to deal with 2 surfaces which are fliped this complicates things a lot..
Is there going to be any real speed loss on any graphics cards if I FastBLT it instead of flip
Thanks
Tim
