Google. type ''openal''. click search. look at the result list. OH what a surprise, it''s the first entry... Next time, you could at least try to search for them.

www.openal.org
www.fmod.org

Oh, thanks. You know what ? I hate people that are too lazy to type a word in a search engine. Especially if it''s so obvious as in Milenko''s question.

Maybe yann is being an asshole but Milenko is still the dumbass in this discussion. I just did searches for fmod and openal on google, altavista, lycos, and yahoo, and their homepages came up as the first hit on all searches. The fact that you''re not using google puzzles me, but what puzzles me more is which search engine exactly did you use that didn''t find any of these pages?

A lot of people on here are assholes because there''s no end to stupid questions and stupid people who expect everyone else to find answers for them.

These dumb questions pop up every now and then. Ppl are lazy, but not lazy enough to write a bunch of arguments to prove otherwise... "freak of nature" maybe?

I''ve used google a few times before and didn''t realy like it... I do like yahoo and most of the time I find what I want... but this time around I didn''t...

Great Milenko, you are the rude one around here, newer did I say anything obscene about you. I''m just saying that ppl are lazy and thats my point of view.. and I''ll stick to it.

"Herr_o go blow a goat"...

Allways expect annoying answers from annoying questions. You got your answer (www.fmod.org), now go home and sleep it over.. you seem to need it.

APIs like fmod and openal were the answer to the poster''s question! What you''re saying is like yelling at a poster for not searching for "a=pi * r2" when he doesn''t know the area of a circle. Admittedly, Milenko could have probably found an answer by doing some more thorough searches. But get off the guy''s back; it isn''t a big deal.

No, actually, if you read his first post, he specifically mentions four APIs. He obviously also didn't try very hard with the search engines, because putting in "fmod" and "openal" into any of them (Yahoo included) comes up with perfectly valid links (as Dobbs pointed out). Futhermore, the websites of these APIs aren't too terribly difficult to guess: for OpenAL it's not only www.openal.com but also www.openal.org AND www.openal.net. FMod is www.fmod.org. Granted, the other two might be harder to find, given their common names.

So, while this Milenko chap may not be stupid, he is either ignorant or lazy.

(And, no, it's not a big deal - but it's the difference between giving him a fish and teaching him how to fish...)

For future reference, a programmer''s greatest asset is the ability to find information on his own - especially trivial information. It makes people respond to you more favorably, among other things.
