Is there a way to change compability mode (winxp) in the app-code. What is compability mode, what does it do? my program runs smoother with compability mode. I''ve search around msdn/google but I think I am looking for the wrong keywords. I''m using C/C++. -----------------------------

The compatibility mode is what WinXP uses when it needs to run, for instance, a Win98 or Win2K app. If you want to run a Win98 app, WinXP puts a Win98 layer between your app and itself. Therefore, when your program wants something from the system, it asks the Win98 layer which in turn asks WinXP.

Hope this helps you out..
