Debugging DirectX in Visual Studio 6.0

Hi, I just got a memory leak debugger working from another thread. (using crtdbg.h) However when I run my DirectX based RPG in debug mode, it crashes solid. Is there anyway to debug a DirectX application for memory leaks.
