Any function that reads and writes?

Im trying to make a model format. The method i currently use uses fread to get info from a .3ds file and put the info in a variable. I use fwrite to write to the new file from the variable. Is there a function that takes in parameters for the source file and the destination file and reads and writes in the same function, so that i dont have to use an intermediate variable? Thanks.

Not to my knowledge. If you dont want to use enormous amounts of memory you can use a while() loop, and read and write in chunks. However, this will take more CPU time than just copying it all into memory and writing it all back out again.
