I am writing a DX app in Visual Basic. When I blit a surface with a bitmap onto the backuffer, I want the source rect to be the size of the source surface. However, I do''t want to have to specify these dimensions each and every time I want to blit. As far as I know, there is no way of doing something like the following: RECT srcrect srcrect.right = surface.width srcrect.bottom = surface.height How can I do this? It seems so simple, yet it is so frustrating!

If you save the surface description of the surface then you can access .height and .width. Look at http://www.vbexplorer.com/directx4vb/ for some help. I think he uses that there.
