my question is. is there a limit to how many hdc''s u can have created at any one time? and is there a limit to how many DIB''s u can create with CreateDIBSection(...) cause in my prog i have 4 dc''s the main dc hdc and 3 backbuffers mdc, cdc, ddc them i create 3 DIB''s one for each of the dc''s and then i blit a pic to the first buffer mdc and the copy that to the thrid buffer ddc then blit that to the screen but nothing shows up and if i blit the pic on mdc to cdc and blit that to the screen nothing shows up but if i comment out the last DIB and blit the pic from mdc to cdc and then blit cdc to the screen its there any ideas on way that happens?? thx for any help

Are you using common DC's? Are you releasing them as soon as your finished using them?

This is from MSDN:
"Windows 95/98/Me: There are only 5 common DCs available per thread..." (documented here).

If your using common DC's you may want to consider using a private DC.

I believe that DIBSection's are limited only by available memory/resources.
