Remembering is always nice, but there''s a reason we have books, web sites, search engines, and MSDN. These resources are meant to be used.
ReactOS - an Open-source operating system compatible with Windows NT apps and drivers
If you perform any activity frequently enough, you eventually memorize it. It''s like Windows programming. When you start out, you can never remember the members of a WNDCLASSEX, or the parameters to CreateWindowEx. As you keep implementing routines and applications and use the facilities more however, you become so familiar with them that you can spout off the style flags for a ReBar band off-head.

It''s like how you learned to spell, or count, or find your way around your house. Over time, familiarity sets in (and breeds contempt!)

Thanks to Kylotan for the idea!
To follow up a little on Martee''s idea a little. You don''t really memorize everything, instead you memorize where you find it in the help. So you see a function or a certain type and you can go directly to it in the help to get the details for it. After a while stuff just sinks in and you end up going back the help less and less. But for complex stuff just remember where to find it in the help .
DX SDK and MSDN are mine best friends !
