mipmapping ??

I have added ''gluBuild2DMipmaps();'' to my code with the unexpected result of having other parts of my program appear very faded-white writing appears grey. Does anyone know what could be causing this, or how I could fix it???? Thanks, Joe

Are the textures that look faded have a height/width of a power of 2? Mipmapping automatically adjusts textures that don''t conform. In my experience, this will cause texture colors to slightly change when my Opengl programs run.

Thanks for the reply. Its actually text(a menu screen) that is getting faded so I don''t think that actually counts as a texture in that sense but maybe Im wrong. Anyway, Il look into it-Thanks,
