New to gaming but not new to C or C++; what choice for a compiler would you recomend and why , not that familar with OpenGl or any other 2d/3d enviorment. Do they come encapsulated with MSFT OR BORLAND ? Would also appreciate any help with heuristics and chess ? What about ProLog seems like it would be good for game development ( Have not written in this language yet but have a little familiarity with it ) Well any way Thanks for any input. AL

hmm., i''ll just tell what i chose and it''s up to you to decide okey? i chose the PC platform because developing here is free. Chose MS Visual C++ because that''s the industry standard and it''s also good. Chose DX because one way or another I will use the other DX API and besides i''ve thought of that i''m already using the windows api, why not use DX then,
