DirectPlay issue

I can’t figure how to use DPN_MSGID_INDICATE_CONNECT. In my host message handler I need to check some conditions required for the client to connect (this conditions are set in the pvUserConnectData). So when I receive the DPN_MSGID_INDICATE_CONNECT, I cast the pMsgBuffer to a DPNMSG_INDICATE_CONNECT structure. Then I have tried to return data via the pvReplyData. I have tried to return a HRESULT, a DPN_MSGID_CONNECT_COMPLETE structure with the desired HRESULT and it does not work. The data are globales. What is wrong? What do I need to do to send back a connection refused message? Thank you for your help.
