wglAllocateMemoryNV

Recommended Posts

Hi, I''m trying to allocate AGP memory with wglAllocateMemoryNV(size,0,0,0.5), but it returns 0. Could this have anything to do with the fact that my GeForce3 (AGP) is running in PCI mode? How can I change this?

It has everything to do with your card operating in PCI mode.

A likely reason for this would be that your operating system does not fully recognose your motherboard chipset. A case in point is Intel''s 815 chipset that supports socket PIII processors. Windows 2000 doesn''t know about this chipset i.e. its not in its extensive driver database and so AGP cards run in PCI mode until you install the proper chiset drivers. If you could tell us what operating system you are running along with the motherboard and graphics card that you have then that would help a great deal. Until you sort this out, your graphics card will not be running anywhere near its full potential.

Hope that this helps...

Kevin

OK,

I sorted it out already... it was just a stupid driver problem. Appearantly the people at Dell didn''t install my chipset drivers properly.
