hello, i want to create a object by boolean addition of two primitives say... a cube and a cylinder in OpenGL? Can it be done ? if yes, how? Otherwise is there a way of grouping the two and treat as a single object? thanx in advance.

It depends how exactly you want to use the object. If you just want to see the addition of two objects on screen then you could just render the two obects as this would give the same effect. The problem comes if you want to use the mesh of the addition operation. This would require you to write your own b-rep evaluator for boolean operations (not an easy task). Opengl has no high level commands to do anything like this. You could always use a 3d modelling program with CSG operations and produce a single model of the addition. Read in the object from file and render with opengl.
