Hi, What is the simplist format I could use to save my 3d object in. At present its in 3ds, which I can convert over in 3dExploration to a number of formats. But since my C skills are not that good I really want to write an object loader that I can understand. (preferably with Texture info) Any examples (or websites) explaining it would be really helpful. Thanks for your time.

loading or saving ?

for loading the best is ASE as you can read it normally by any editor (this is the 3DStudio export format).

for saving ? the same.

But for best way, or convenience, you may make your own format:
first you load from ASE for example (or any other format)
then you save it into your specific format
and then you could load it in your format

i think it''s the best way

I''ve investigated 3DS, ASE, LWO, MD2 and MD3, I prefer the last two for loading.

Don''t need to save plenty of tools are out for those two formats.
