Self-Illuminated Texture

How do you do self-illuminate a texture in D3D? When I design a mesh using 3D Studio Max, I can self-illuminate a non-texture material, but how do you do it for a texture-based material?

Can you just turn D3D lighting off while rendering that object?
Dang, never mind. All I had to do was turn up the emissive level. Hehe.
