A friend of mine wants to write some simple games for current and next generation cell phones. He was talking about using the Micro Edition of Java. Aerrm I can''t even imagine writing a non turn based game for high end workstations with java. Is the micro edition fast enough to run tetris or pac mac clones on cell phones ?? Or are there other tools for pda/cell phone programming ?

The CPUs used by the new phones natively interpret Java bytecode in "Java-on-a-chip" hardware! - so it should be about as fast as writing in native assembly language!
