I'm trying to create a cube texture for my Cubic Environment Mapping by calling the following code: d3dDevice->CreateCubeTexture( 256, 1, D3DUSAGE_RENDERTARGET, D3DFMT_R8G8B8, D3DPOOL_DEFAULT, &m_pCubeMap); but it keeps returning D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE error. What does that mean? What am I doing wrong? Edited by - toyemann on March 23, 2002 12:25:04 AM

Switch to debug DX runtime and set debug output to maximum. You can get a more sensible explanation.

Probably your videocard does not support some features required for the cubic env mapping, check d3dcaps
