As a newbie to DX8 I''ve just discovered that there''s a very low number of D3D lights I can have in my scene - is there any workaround to this other than turning lights on and off as my player walks around the world? How do they manage to do the cool lights in RTCWolfenstein or Quake or do they just manage with the 8 D3D ones and stretch them a long way? Most newbie tutorials seem to cover just the Direct3D light system. I''ve heard about light maps but I''m not sure how they work. Are they part of this workaround. Many thanks. I know it''s a lot of questions probably most of which you''re sick of answering. ~~tim
