fstream problems... Say I whant to have the option of being able to change the name of the file that I whant to edit. Something like this: ifstream test; define (not #define) textfile = "textfile.txt"; test.open(textfile); I've tried with strings, but the open() function won't accept it.. It couldn't convert or something. Any idea on how I could solve this? [edited by - rimrok on April 17, 2002 3:47:29 PM]

just #include <string>
and say:
ifstream test;
string myString="textfile.txt";
test.open(myString.c_str());

the c_str() function returns a const char* for your string, so I think it''ll work.
