Hi 2day to take the big step & start learning 3D programming. So I looked for a tutorial & I am creating my own software renderer using Directdraw 7. I understand most of it. Like matrix concation but I have no idea why the matrix''s likr rotation,scaling,translations are the way they are. What distinguihes where cos,sin go whyy does scaling make horizontal line. I just don''t get the way they are set up ? Please could you explain to me thanx in advance WizHarD

I''d strongly advise getting hold of a book such as "Mathematics for Computer Graphics Applications" which explains this stuff really well.

How matrices work and why you put sine and cosine in certain places for a rotation matrix isn''t the kind of thing which can be explained sufficiently in a few paragraphs on a web-board - it''s a topic which takes a few *chapters* of a book like the above.
