So far i have programmed a tetris and a pong using opengl/glut Should y continue to make simple games like snake, missile comander or space invaders, or should i move to pacman and then platform games like Super mario bros. I''d like to be on my way to programming "real " games by the end of the year. by real games i mean a FPS, RPG or RTS. thanks

I''d move on to whichever of those options interests you the most. IMHO, interest is much more important than what is the next "logical" step.

if you''re interested, the extra challenges will be fun. if you''re bored with small steps, the next game will be a nightmare.
