Where can I find info on how to program applets in old Java that anyone with IE or NetScape Navigator can use without a plug-in? Anyone know of any links for this?

Scroll down, all versions of java are covered.

aa, thnx you.
also google search for the book: Black art of java game programming. Its all on line and its so good I went to barnes and noble and bought the hard copy! Plus it was written in 1996 so its all jdk 1.1
If you are gonna buy a book I would suggest "Java in Plain English" Second ED. Brian Overland. Very good for learning applications and applets, although there really isn''t much difference. Goes through most of the API with alot of example code.

I''m not sure whether "Black Art of Java Game Programming is still there". I had it bookmarked (as well as "Cutting Edge Java Game Programming"), but these days, I get a 603 whenever I try to access the site. From what I downloaded and read from it, it is an excellent book though, well worth the hardcover price.
Anyway, here are the old links, just in case the 603s are temporary. There might also be some mirror sites that still work.

not that it mattered, but "403", of course.
