How do I learn more about the online game industry? How much money do online games cost? (Java games?) Who are the big developers of online games? Do web companies creating online games hire game developers, or do they tend to hire game development companies.

You *could* be more vague, you know...

A quick way to get a sampling of online games is to go to Alta Vista and do a search on "online multiplayer games". You''ll find sites like ours (Samu Games), Hi2 (UK-based), 2AM Games, the IGZ, and others.

Which "cost" do you mean? To play or to develop? A lot of "web games" that run in your browser are free, with banner ads. Our games are free to play, with benefits for paying.

Kesmai was one of the biggest online game developers last I heard. But they were bought (by AOL?). There really aren''t that many "online only" game developers.

As for web company hiring practices...no idea. From the "games" I''ve seen on most web pages, they had a nephew with some free time do it in Flash.

Hope this is at least somewhat helpful.
