Hey there! I was wondering if anyone here bought the java book. I''d be interrested in trading the source code that came with the CD. It''s not that I''m cheap or anything. I bought 3 game programming book (palmOS, opengl and lamothe''s windows guru), 1 java book and 1 C++ book in the last 8 months. I''ve spend enough money on books for now, especially since I mostly use the source code... Sooo, anyone willing to trade? or give freely ?

That seems somehow... illegal...

I''m going to have to agree with draqza, that does seem a tab bit illegal
Errr...

So?

Dont tell me you''ve never done anything "illegal" on the internet!

Never downloaded a crack, never downloaded a movie, never downloaded a warez, always giving correct information about your identity when registering stuff, never saw porn when you were younger than 18, etc...

If you say you''ve never done any of these things, then you''re a liar or a total internet newbie.

I think I''ve spent enough on books. all I want is the source code. I dont care about the book. Why would I spend a 100 buck canadian for a stupid book that I only want for its source code.

Furthermore, all game prog book starts with like 400 pages of learning java, or C++ or whatever. I already know that stuff. I dont need it.

So there. my reasons for wanting the source code.
err... so what''s really illegal about slapping source code on the internet? Here, i have an easy solution, Modify it a little by putting your name on it, give credit to the book, and hand it out.

You want source code?
You want A LOT of source code?

visit http://www.sourceforge.com

The Open Source movement is for you, in that page you will see a lot of programs where you can see (good and bad) source code, and you can read it and learn from it...

You don´t need to spend 50$ on a book just for the source code...

The point here is not whether GameDev users, in general or individually, have ever broken the law. If you think it is, do a google search for "ad hominem tu quoque" and do some reading.

The point is that GameDev isn''t a forum for this sort of stuff. If you want your 133t 0-day w4r3z, go somewhere where those requests are welcome.
