Does anyone think I can use the dev C++ compiler to make action-online games?

The compiler you choose doesn''t really matter so long as it works. Everything is up to you.

To reformulate Fruny's post: it depends on your programming skills rather than on the compiler you use whether you can do that. I don't know dev C++, but as long as it is able to produce Win32 applications, and you have all headers/libs needed, it should be possible. Have a look to your compiler documentation for details.
