I followed it and it does worth, although you really need to add your own interpolation system if you want it to look any good.

Yes...U can load whatever type of model using directX.The X file format is simply one of the easiest to load.

Yes, Xfiles are easy to load since DirectX comes with a whole handy set of functions to load them

But try animating one using skinned meshes - I mean, it really is a complete bitch to do. Writing code to load an MD2 file is fairly simple, plus the the animation code can, in it''s simplist form, be completed in about 3 lines. You can use Milkshape to make and export MD2s easily, or a combination of 3DMax/Milkshape.

If you''re after beautiful static models, then X files are easier in terms of specifying materials, textures, loading, etc...
But if it''s animation you''re after, then MD2s are great, once you put some interpolation code in...

I must be missed this article.
Of course - with vertex you can do all what you want.
I just tryed to find some code how to make it in DirecX.
