Uh oh, already I''ve discovered a bug. Fast frame rates cause the game to shoot laser damage which hits the ship you''re firing from. Sorry if that doesn''t make sense, I''m drunk.

Will have a patch out for tomorrrow to fix that bug.

The final version (v1.0) is now available at the following web address:

http://asteroids3d.sourceforge.net

New features:

- 3D model + code optimizations (yields better, more consistent frame rate)
- Velocity indicator in cockpit
- Better looking GUI
- Resolution settings remembered
- Resolution settings available in-game
- Katie Holmes ON/OFF option

For anyone that''s interested, this was the game that helped get me into a Melbourne Playstation 2 development house! Woohoo!

I tried this on my work PC (P3 600, ATI Rage 128 VR SD, 128MB) and it ran fine even on those low specs, except that there are no dots showing up on the radar display thingy at the top-right of the screen. Nicely done, but I''ve just been sacked for skiving.

Congradulations!!!!!

BTW, it works on my machine now. Very nice. I like the drive through idea. I pushed it all the way to 1280x1024x32 and it ran with no slow downs.
