I''ve just had an interesting day debugging by email. It''s not much fun but it worked in the end. Anyway it inspired me to resurrect an idea I had where a group of developers can test their demos/game engines/test programs on each others machines. Access to the wide variety of hardware/operating system combinations as owned by internet users worldwide should make the testing process a bit more hit and less miss. Small publishers in particular nowadays do not playtest. In fact a few never even try the game, just take a look to see if the screenshots would sell any copies. It seems that game players play test most of all. Anyone who''s interested in trying this out can email me using mark@treality.freeserve.co.uk. I''ve just added a web page which includes a rudimentary code of conduct http://www.treality.freeserve.co.uk/circle.html too if anyone is interested. I think it could work.
