I want to use direcplay to perform the network function in our game. It is client-server model. But when i started the server, and start a client to connect the server. I found that the server will reveive a DPN_MSGID_INDICATE_CONNECT message, not DPN_MSGID_CREATE_PLAYER. Why? Where should i create player? Please reply me as soon as possible. It is urgent. Thank!

I know this won''t help you but I suggest you try sockets instead. They are easy to learn and it is what directplay is using anyway. You will have more control on what you are doing too. There are plenty of examples out in the net on this and what you want to look for is berkley standard sockets examples. You only need a few functions to set up a simple client server application.
But then it would be very basic of course but then again you at least know what is going on.
